The HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 will take place September 30 - October 6, 2020. Daily schedules will vary, with express days lasting only a few hours, and full days consisting of a robust agenda, packed with engaging activities, visits to the exhibit hall, and valuable learning opportunities. 

Planning Your Experience

HFSA Virtual ASM 2020 will include many of the core elements of the popular traditional in-person Annual Scientific Meeting with some exciting twists that the virtual approach allows. These innovations include new ways to deliver critical education, connect attendees, announce new research and trials, all while providing a fun and interactive experience for attendees. While attendees are encouraged to attend as many sessions live as possible to engage in activities like live chatting and Q&As, most sessions will be available OnDemand within 24 hours and for 90 days after the meeting ends. Key sessions have been strategically scheduled to reach many time zones around the world. 


The HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 is being held on the MedscapeLIVE! platform. All attendees are highly encouraged to use Google Chrome or Firefox to access the Virtual Meeting Platform.

Important Recommendations: 

  • Access the virtual platform link on Google Chrome (preferred) or Firefox.

  • Log off VPN or DWS / DB network.  This will greatly improve your connection.

  • A hardwired internet connection is best, if possible, but not necessary.

  • Enlarge the platform so that you're viewing it in full screen. You can also click the button at the bottom of the screen to enlarge the player once you're in a session. 

Be sure to verify that your volume is turned on and that you are connected to the internet. 


Before the Meeting: If you have any questions or concerns regarding the course content, technology requirements, your registration, or other topics, please contact HFSA staff at info@hfsa.org

During the Meeting:

  • During live hours throughout the duration of the meeting, attendees will be able to ask questions about the meeting in the virtual HFSA Help Desk, accessible via a link in the main, top-level menu or the desk in the virtual lobby. Representatives of HFSA staff will be available to assist you.

  • Technical difficulties: If you experience any slow downs or delays, first try clicking “refresh” in the bottom right-hand corner. Technical questions about the platform, including questions about required technology, delays, freezing issues, etc., are best answered by the Medscape team. Attendees can click the "Live Support Chat" button in the lower right-hand side of the screen for assistance.
