You may continue using the email with which you registered for the meeting to gain access to the OnDemand platform through December 31, 2020. To access recordings and slides, follow these instructions:
Session Recordings + Slides: Lobby Monitors
Scroll to the bottom of the monitors in the Scientific Sessions Theater lobby and the Industry Theater lobby to see available OnDemand sessions. Click "Watch On Demand." Once the session opens, you may access materials, including session slides and links to claim CE credits, via the tabs below the presentation window.
Slides: Resources Area
All session slides will be available in the Resources area once production concludes. Click "Resources" from the top-level menu. Select "Presentation Resources" from the drop-down and then click on the folder for a presentation to see available slides.
Has the meeting been CE accredited?
In support of improving patient care, The Heart Failure Society of America is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
How many CE credits can I get?
Physicians
HFSA designates this live activity for a maximum of 60.05 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component and post-test with 75% passing score, enables the participant to earn up to 12.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
Nurses
This educational activity is approved for continuing nursing education (CNE) units by the Heart Failure Society of American, an accredited provider of the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This activity is approved for a maximum of 60.05 contact hours (which includes 16.00 hours of nursing pharmacology. See details below).
Pharmacology Hours for Nurses
For Nurses who require pharmacology hours for their certification or licensure renewal, this year the HFSA Annual meeting offers opportunities to accrue 16.00 hours.
Pharmacists
The Heart Failure Society of America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE). This event is accredited for 34.75 contact hours of knowledge-based CPE. Pharmacist participants may earn up to 34.75 hours of knowledge-based CPE. To earn credit, participants must complete the online evaluation for each presentation attended and submit their NABP ID and DOB (MMDD). Once evaluations are completed, CPE will be uploaded to CPE monitor within 60 days of the close of the activity. Pharmacist must fill out evaluation to claim credit by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, November 20, 2020.
How can I claim CE credits?
While watching a Scientific Session or Satellite Symposia ondemand, click the "Claim CE Credit" tab that appears below the session player to access evaluations.
- Evaluations must be completed in order to receive credit certificates.
- All evaluations will be electronic and are mobile optimized.

MOC Credit: Additional Details
Learners seeking to claim contact hours in the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program, must complete the evaluation and pass the post-test assessment with a 75% score. Learners must provide the HFSA with their ABIM number along with their Date of Birth (MMDD). The HFSA will report all successfully obtained MOC contact hours directly to the ABIM.
The deadline to claim MOC credit is 11:59 PM EST on Friday, November 20, 2020.
Pharmacy Credit: Additional Details
Learners seeking to claim continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit hours must complete the online evaluation for each presentation attended and submit their NABP ID and DOB (MMDD). Once evaluations are completed, CPE will be uploaded to CPE monitor within 60 days of the close of the activity. Evaluations are available in the "Claim CE Credit" tab housed within the session player for a session offering CPE credits.

How can I access the full program?
Before the meeting starts, you can access program details including faculty and session details in the Online Program Planner*. The Online Program Planner will not integrate with the virtual meeting platform, so if you have developed an itinerary in the planner, we recommend that you export it to your personal calendar or print the itinerary to follow throughout the meeting.
You can also access the program at a glance in the PDF Final Program, available here. On the virtual meeting platform, you can access the program by clicking the “View Sessions Agenda” sign in the virtual lobby. This agenda will include links to take you directly to the session location. The Scientific Sessions Theater Lobby and Industry Theaters Lobby will contain agendas for their respective sessions.

- Express Days – The five weekdays throughout the meeting are Express Days, consisting of CE and non-CE sessions, and networking activities between 4:30 PM and 9:30 PM EDT. Daily end times vary by day. View the final program for specifics.
- Full Days – The two weekend days throughout the meeting are full days, consisting of CE and non-CE sessions, live Industry and Poster Chats, and networking activities between 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM EDT. Daily start and end times vary by day. View the final program for specifics.
- OnDemand: Live presentations will be available ondemand within 24-48 hours. You can watch when it’s convenient for you.
Exact start times may differ slightly, please plan to join early to ensure you do not miss the start of the presentation.
Where can I access session slides?
During the session, click the “Slides/Materials” tab in the session player. After a session concludes, all slides will upload automatically into the Resources Center under “Presentation Resources,” which is accessible from the top-level menu “More” button or the desk in the Virtual Lobby.
I missed a live presentation. How can I watch it?
Presentations will be made available ondemand and will remain available on the online platform for 90 days post-meeting. You must register before December 31, 2020 at 11:45 PM EDT to benefit from early access at reduced rates. Find session recordings in the virtual meeting platform on the agenda monitors in the Scientific Session Theater Lobby and Industry Theater Lobby. Scroll to find particular sessions, click "OnDemand" to watch the recording.
Where can I view speaker disclosures?
Speaker disclosure information is available in the virtual meeting platform Resources Hub. Speakers also have a disclosure slide at the beginning of each presentation.
How do I register for the HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020?
Visit the Registration Page to sign-up for the meeting. Group and third-party registration is not available and that delegates must register themselves. You can register through December 31, 2020 at 11:45 PM EDT. To register, you will need to sign in to your HFSA Member Portal account. If you do not have an HFSA Member Portal account you will need to create one during the registration process by clicking “Create an Account.” Register here.
It's after October 6 and I would like to access OnDemand content. How can I purchase it?
Delegates are welcome to register for OnDemand access at reduced meeting rates through December 31, 2020 at 11:45 PM EDT. To register, you will need to sign in to your HFSA Member Portal account. If you do not have an HFSA Member Portal account you will need to create one during the registration process by clicking “Create an Account.” Register here.
I can’t attend the HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020. How can I access the scientific presentations?
We’re sorry you’ll miss HFSA2020. Registered attendees will be able to access all presentations on the platform for 90 days after the meeting ends. Non-registered attendees will be available to purchase the presentations as a bundle in the HFSA Learning Center after the 90-day post-meeting period ends. We urge you to register before December 31, 2020 at 11:45 PM EDT to benefit from early access at reduced rates.
Who is eligible to register for the HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020?
Physicians (MD, DO), nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, trainees, health professionals, dieticians, EMS, nutritionists, OTs, PAs, PTs, policy analysts, physiotherapists, technicians/research, FDA/NIH representatives, and members of the press with a special interest in heart failure are eligible to attend the meeting. The HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 is being held on the MedscapeLIVE! platform. All attendees are highly encouraged to use Google Chrome or Firefox to access the Virtual Meeting Platform.
Important Recommendations:

I can’t hear the presentation
Please ensure the volume on your computer speakers is turned up and that the sound of the presentation is not muted. If you continue to have issues with sound after checking the volume and restarting your computer, click the "Live Support Chat" button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen for technical assistance from the Medscape team.
I’m having technical difficulties
If you experience any slow downs or delays, first try clicking “refresh” in the bottom right-hand corner. Technical questions about the platform, including questions about required technology, delays, freezing issues, etc., are best answered by the Medscape team. Attendees can click the "Live Support Chat" button in the lower right-hand side of the screen for assistance.

The conference will begin on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 4:30 PM EST. The virtual meeting platform will open on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 10:00 AM EDT and will be accessible via virtual.hfsa.org. The platform will remain open 24 hours a day through December 31, 2020 at 11:45 PM EDT.

The live meeting will be presented on an Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) schedule.
Logging in
Please use the email address that you registered with as your log in. A password is not required. Please note that you can only be logged in at once device during the same time. Once you have logged in, please take a few minutes to set up your profile to create a better experience when engaging with fellow attendees via chat functions.
How do I access the various program activities like scientific sessions, industry theaters, exhibit / poster halls, networking, etc.?
All activities taking place throughout the HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting can be launched from the Virtual Lobby. Simply click an item from the top-level menu or click a button found on one of the virtual signs in the lobby. Remember to click the “More” button in the top-level menu if you cannot find the link you are seeking.
- Agenda – Can be accessed directly in the virtual meeting platform by clicking the “View Sessions Agenda” sign in the virtual lobby. It can also be accessed in PDF form here or via the Online Program Planner.
- Scientific Sessions – can be accessed through the Scientific Sessions Theater Lobby. You will see a full agenda of these sessions by Theater in the lobby.
- Industry Theaters – can be accessed through the Industry Theaters Lobby. You will see a full agenda of these sessions by Theater in the lobby.
- Satellite Symposium – can be accessed through the Satellite Symposium Theater, located in the "more" drop-down menu.
- Exhibit Halls – all halls can be accessed through the Exhibit and Poster Hall Lobby. You can view a full list of exhibitors in the final program or in the Resources Center
- Poster Hall – can be accessed through the Exhibit and Poster Hall Lobby. You can view a full list of ePosters and abstracts in the final program or in the Resources Center.
- Session Slides – these will automatically upload to the "Resources – Presentation Resources" area after a session concludes. While in a session, you can click the "Slides/Materials" tab to view slides.
- Meeting Resources – can be accessed through the Resources link on the front desk in the Virtual Lobby.
- Information on HFSA membership, programs, and activities – can be found under the HFSA Help Desk, accessed from the link on the front desk in the Virtual Lobby.

Most live sessions will have a window where you can ask chat with fellow attendees and an Interactivity tab to ask questions of faculty. The Networking Lounge will have Forums focused on specific topics, as well as a chat box for candid conversations. Attendees may also chat directly with one another by clicking on the messaging feature from the individual’s profile. Attendees can chat directly with exhibitors in the Exhibit Halls and with abstract presenters in the Poster Hall – ideally during Live Poster and Industry Chat hours. How can I ask a question during the Live Sessions?
During live presentations, attendees can click the "Q&A" tab to submit questions for session faculty. If the session has polling, it will also appear under this tab.
How can I interact with a presenter whose Abstract is in the Poster Hall?
You will be able to view abstracts and ePosters in the Poster Hall 24/7 – the hall will remain open around the clock. We strongly encourage attendees to visit the Poster Hall during the Poster Chat event times. A LIVE representative and poster presenter will be available to answer any questions.

All abstracts presented at the HFSA Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 will be published in an online supplement of the Journal of Cardiac Failure – October 2020, Vol 26, Issue 10.
