Has the meeting been CE accredited?
In support of improving patient care, The Heart Failure Society of America is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
How many CE credits can I get?
Physicians
HFSA designates this live activity for a maximum of 53.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component and post-test with 75% passing score, enables the participant to earn up to 9.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
Nurses
This educational activity is approved for Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) units by the Heart Failure Society of American, an accredited provider of the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This activity is approved for a maximum of 53.00 contact hours (which includes 17.00 hours of nursing pharmacology. See details below).
Pharmacology Hours for Nurses
For Nurses who require pharmacology hours for their certification or licensure renewal, this year the HFSA Annual meeting offers opportunities to accrue 17.00 hours.
Pharmacists
The Heart Failure Society of America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE). This event is accredited for up to 24.75 contact hours of knowledge-based CPE.
Pharmacist participants may earn up to 24.75 hours of knowledge-based CPE. To earn credit for the live session, participants must complete the online evaluation for each presentation attended and submit their NABP ID and DOB (MMDD).
Once evaluations are completed, CPE will be uploaded to CPE monitor within 60 days of the close of the activity. Pharmacists wishing to claim credit for attending the live session must fill out the session evaluation(s) no later than 11:59 PM EST on Monday, November 1, 2021.

How to Claim CE Credit
To claim CE credit, learners must complete a session-specific evaluation. Click the "Claim CE Credit" link on the bottom left-hand side of the screen in the session player on the Virtual Meeting Platform to access the session evaluation. Onsite attendees will find QR codes for CE / MOC credits on signage and the schedule at a glance available at the registration desk or at the CE kiosk near registration.

How to Claim ABIM MOC Credit
Learners seeking to claim contact hours in the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program will be asked to complete a session pre-test prior to the start of the session. At the conclusion of the session, the participant must complete a session evaluation and pass the post-test assessment with a 75% score.
Learners must provide the HFSA with their 6-digit ABIM number along with their Date of Birth (MMDD). The HFSA will report all successfully obtained MOC contact hours directly to the ABIM.
To claim MOC credit, click the "Pre-Test" link on the bottom left-hand side of the screen in the session player on the Virtual Meeting Platform to access the session pre-test. Onsite attendees will find QR codes for CE / MOC credits on signage and the schedule at a glance available at the registration desk or at the CE kiosk near registration.

Pharmacy Credit: Additional Details

When can I access the virtual meeting platform?
The conference will begin on Friday, September 10 and will conclude on Monday, September 13, 2021. It will be accessible via meeting.hfsa.org. The platform will remain open 24 hours a day through January 31, 2022.
In what time zone will the livestreams take place?
The live meeting will be presented on a Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) schedule.
How do I login?
Your login credentials will be the email you registered with and your password will be your registration confirmation #. These can be found in your confirmation email. Please note that you can only be logged in at once device during the same time. Once you have logged in, please take a few minutes to set up your profile to create a better experience when engaging with fellow attendees via chat functions.

What should I do the day of my meeting?
All activities taking place throughout the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting can be launched from the main menu or tiles on the homepage. Simply click an item from the top-level menu or click a tile below the homepage graphic.
How do I access the various program activities like scientific sessions, industry theaters, exhibit / poster halls, etc.?

How can I ask a question during the Live Sessions?
A Q&A box will accessible on the screen during sessions. All attendees may ask questions via this box. If you are onsite, please see signage and materials for access to Audience Response Systems.
How can I interact with virtual participants and presenters during the meeting?
The Virtual Meeting Platform will have a networking tool that is available to all attendees under the Networking tab in the site main menu. Onsite attendees may take part in the numerous networking receptions and activities planned throughout the meeting.
How can I interact with a presenter whose Abstract is in the Virtual ePoster Hall?
Posters will contain a PUBLIC chat feature. If you wish to have a private chat with a poster presenter, search for the presenter by name in the platform's networking tool, located under the Networking tab in the site main menu.
Do exhibitors have a virtual booth? How do I find it?
Some exhibitors host their own virtual booths. Under Exhibitors, click Browse Exhibitors to enter the virtual exhibit hall exhibitor list. Click on an exhibitor logo or name to view their booth. You may search over the exhibitor list by company name, level, and category in order to locate the appropriate booth.
How can I interact with a representative of an exhibitor in the Virtual Exhibit Hall?
Each virtual exhibit booth will include a chat feature where attendees can interact directly with the exhibitor. On the exhibitor page, click "Schedule a Meeting" on the right-hand side of the screen and then schedule a meeting or start a chat.
How will I know what sessions will be Livestreamed or OnDemand?
In the Virtual Meeting Platform, attendees can see which sessions are available as a Livestream or OnDemand by viewing the Sessions page, accessible under the "Learning" tab on the main site menu. On the Sessions page, you can filter by session access, which includes "Available OnDemand Post Session," "Livestream," "On-Site," and "On-Site Only." When viewing an individual session page, look to the left to see the "Session Access."
I missed a presentation live. Can I view a recording?
Presentations that are OnDemand will be available for viewing at the end of the day they are presented and for the length that the platform is active. The HFSA Virtual Meeting Platform will be available through January 31, 2022.

On the virtual meeting platform, you can access the program by visiting the Schedule at a Glance, located under the "Learning" tab on the site menu. This agenda will include links to take you directly to the session location.
How do I edit my attendee profile?
Please be sure to update your attendee profile to enhance your interactions across the platform. Go to the section Profile in the upper right and make sure your profile is up to date: upload a picture, enter your personal information summary, and select keywords in your areas of interest. Having an updated profile will allow you to get more meaningful connections. Keywords can be words or short phrases such as “quantum optics” or “cold atoms.”
What browsers are supported on the Platform?
This year’s Virtual Meeting Platform supports the most current version of the popular browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.) plus one version back. Chrome is the preferred browser.
Do I need a webcam to experience the platform?
No, you do not need a webcam and can attend in audio-only format.
Can I attend the event on a mobile device?
Yes, the site can be viewed on a mobile device and will be formatted for mobile viewing.
Is there a special plug-in that I need to attend this virtual event?
You do not need a plug in for the functioning of the HFSA 2021 Virtual Meeting Platform; however, you cannot run it on Internet Explorer.

How do I register for the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting 2021?
Visit the Registration Page to sign-up for the meeting. Group and third-party registration is not available and delegates must register themselves. To register, you will need to sign in to your HFSA Member Portal account. If you do not have an HFSA Member Portal account you will need to create one during the registration process by clicking “Create an Account.” Register here.
Who is eligible to register for the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting 2021?

What safety measures is HFSA taking for onsite attendees?

Are masks required onsite at the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting?
Yes. Masks are required for all attendees, HFSA staff, and hotel staff indoors, except for when presenting or eating. Masks are not required in outdoor spaces.
Is a COVID-19 vaccination required to attend the meeting?
Yes. A full COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of attendees. Acceptable vaccines include those that the World Health Organization has listed as safe for emergency use. As of May 2021, WHO has listed the Pfizer/BioNTech, Astrazeneca-SK Bio, Serum Institute of India, Janssen, Moderna and Sinopharm vaccines for emergency use. Learn more here.
What are the acceptable forms of proof of COVID-19 vaccination?
HFSA will accept printed vaccination cards or photos of vaccination cards presented with photo identification. Digital vaccine cards through official online databases like MyIR.net may also be shown. Attendees may contact their vaccination provider for a copy of their card if it has been misplaced. Many states also offer databases to reproduce card: ex. the Virginia Department of Health Immunization Portal. Health Insurance providers may also offer card reproductions.
When will I be required to show my vaccination card?
Vaccination cards will be reviewed during the check in process onsite and will not be accepted prior to that time.
Is a negative COVID-19 test acceptable for me to attend the meeting?
No. Only proof of full COVID-19 vaccination will be accepted for onsite attendees.
What if I am unable to get the COVID-19 vaccination based on personal or health reasons?
Attendees who are unable to take the COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged to register for the virtual component of the meeting. If you have concerns please contact HFSA staff at [email protected].
What if I arrive onsite and do not have proof of vaccination?
Attendees will not be admitted without proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.
Will attendees have to report COVID-19 symptoms or attest that they do not have symptoms daily?
Attendees will not be required to formally attest that they do not have symptoms; however, they are asked to self-screen daily using guidelines provided by the CDC or the CDC Coronavirus Self-Checker available on the Health and Safety page. If an attendee experiences symptoms, they are asked to remain in their hotel room and stream sessions virtually, and contact HFSA staff at [email protected].
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19: 1) Fever or chills; 2) Cough; 3) Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; 4) Fatigue; 5) Muscle or body aches; 6) Headache; 7) New loss of taste or smell; 8) Sore throat; 9) Congestion or runny nose; 10) Nausea or vomiting; 11) Diarrhea. This list does not include all possible symptoms. CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.
