The HFSA Heart Failure Seminar: Update on GDMT, Leap Into GDMT, Tips and Tricks, is part of the HFSA’s ongoing Focus On seminar series which brings together healthcare providers (HCPs). This virtual seminar features a multidisciplinary panel of HF experts who are presenting a case-based program that is designed to provide the most current information on the utilization of GDMT treatments for the management of patients with HF. Among the topics that will be discussed in this program are the new and current recommendations, specific therapies, tailoring patient treatments, strategies to optimize and maintain dosing, and the impact of GDMT on HF patient outcomes.

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, primary care physicians, cardiac surgeons, internists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care providers who care for patients with heart failure.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be better able to:

  1. Discuss the clinical barriers to implementing guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) 
  2. Review the timing and efficacy of optimal guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT)
  3. Identify strategies for monitoring and improving patient outcomes utilizing guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT)
