Phillip H. Lam, MD, FACC is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and Staff Cardiologist in the Section of Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Cardiac Transplant Medicine at the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is also an Associate Program Director for the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Georgetown University / MedStar Washington Hospital.
Dr. Lam has an interest in the medical management of patients with advanced heart failure in the outpatient, inpatient, and critical care settings. His research interests include risk prognosticators and medical therapies in older adults with heart failure and he has published and contributed to papers in this area.
Dr. Lam obtained his undergraduate Bachelor of Sciences degree at Cornell University. He received his medical doctorate at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where he also served an additional year as Chief Resident. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Georgetown University / MedStar Washington Hospital and his Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
