ASM Roundtable: Achieving/Maintaining Work Life Balance as an Advanced Heart Failure
Work life balance is important in helping to maintain career satisfaction, avoid burn out and in attracting future trainees to a field. As women, the challenges we face are unique and it can be difficult knowing how best to navigate this. During this round table discussion, there will be opportunities for early career physicians to engage with mid and late career physicians to discuss strategies that have been successful in creating adequate work-life balance and strategies that have been effective in avoiding burn out/dealing with burn out. Members can discuss how to become more efficient with managing the clinical demands (rounding, charting, inbox) while still carving out time to engage in research, administrative pursuits or other scholarly activities. If possible, can have representation from physicians in both academic and private practice ideally to provide both perspective.
