SURVEY: Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy Use for Heart Failure in Adult Congenital Heart Disease

Practice News Research

Survey Overview & Purpose

The goal of the survey is to better understand the current state of guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) use in patients with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) who have heart failure. The efficacy of GDMT in ACHD patients with heart failure is questioned because ACHD patients were excluded from the relevant, large clinical trials. Studies evaluating GDMT use in ACHD patients are regularly underpowered and thought to show conflicting results. Therefore, clinicians may or may not extrapolate the use of guideline-directed medical therapy recommended for heart failure in patients with structurally normal hearts.  Completion of the survey will reveal the current practice patterns and inform future research on GDMT in ACHD heart failure populations.

The survey can be accessed easily from any computer or smartphone. Your response is confidential and will play a significant role in advancing our understanding of medical management of ACHD heart failure.

Target Survey Participants
If you are a heart failure, general cardiology, and/or ACHD provider your input is critical to advance our understanding of GDMT use in the ACHD heart failure population.
