LVAD
In an era of long transplant wait times, improving outcomes while on LVAD support is essential. LVAD optimization is key, and this session will discuss protocols for medication optimization as well as echocardiographic and right heart catheterization (RHC)-guided optimization. In addition, novel scoring systems have improved our understanding of which patients may recover following LVAD implantation. Speakers will review predictors of recovery, as well as protocols designed to guide decisions regarding whether LVADs can be explanted or decommissioned.
