Taking HFpEF Therapy to the Next Level: Going for Gold
Let’s get podium-ready! This session will highlight clinical practice conundrums that providers encounter in the daily management of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. How do we diagnose patients who cannot undergo exercise hemodynamic evaluation? When should we reach for finerenone, and how does it compare to spironolactone? Are GLP-1 receptor agonists now a pillar of therapy? How should we approach atrial fibrillation in HFpEF?
Join us as we prepare you for your own HFpEF Olympics! We will close with a case presentation of a patient with HFpEF, followed by a panel discussion.
Learning Objectives
- Evaluate the role of provocative hemodynamic testing, including exercise echocardiography, passive leg raise, and exercise hemodynamic testing, in the diagnosis and hemodynamic assessment of HFpEF.
- Compare the clinical benefits of steroidal and non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists in the treatment of HFpEF.
- Discuss the role of rhythm control strategies for concomitant atrial fibrillation in HFpEF.
- Discuss the emerging role of GLP-1 receptor agonists in HFpEF management.
