Nitasha Sarswat is an associate professor of medicine at University of Chicago, where she started the amyloidosis program about 11 years ago.  She is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist and the director of the infiltrative cardiomyopathy program.   

She starting to come to Endeavor in 2020 to help our advanced heart failure program to grow and help act as a liaison for transplant as well as to grow the amyloidosis program.   

She now runs a multi-institutional amyloidosis center of excellence between UChicago and Endeavor. The center is currently the first center to be spotlighted by the Amyloidosis Foundation - this involves a series of talks and website/publicity for the program. 

She currently is involved in multiple amyloid guideline endeavors with the American society of hematology.  She is on the educational committee for the International Society of Amyloidosis, is part of a working group with the Amyloidosis Forum that works intimately with the FDA to further amyloidosis care, and is an Assistant Editor for JACC (Journal of the American College of Cardiology) Advances


She also started and runs an amyloid clinical fellowship, funded by the Amyloid Research Consortium), about to start its 3rd year, as well as an amyloid research fellowship that will start next month.   

She is an aggressive patient advocate and is an advisor to the Amyloidosis Speakers Bureau, a medical science advisor for the Amyloidosis Support Group, a key speaker for the Amyloidosis Research Consortium and has been involved in the Alliance for Patient Access Amyloidosis group to rally on Capitol hill for our amyloid patients for over 10 years.  

In addition, she does countless talks regarding amyloidosis around the world and has become known as an international leader in the space.
