Mitchell Psotka, MD, PhD is System Section Chief of Heart Failure and Transplant, and Director of the Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy Center, at the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in Falls Church, Virginia. He also is a Medical Officer in the Division of Cardiology and Nephrology within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the United States Food and Drug Administration. He specializes in heart failure, heart transplant, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension, and infiltrative cardiomyopathies, as well as clinical trial methodologies. He received his medical degree and Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, in Charlottesville, Virginia, and completed his residency and fellowship training in internal medicine, cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant, pulmonary hypertension, and clinical research at the University of California San Francisco.
