Dr. Meredith Brisco-Bacik is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Section of Cardiology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she serves as Director of Heart Failure Clinical Research. Dr. Brisco-Bacik completed her medical degree at University of Maryland and went on to train in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. She subsequently completed her cardiology and advanced heart failure training at the University of Pennsylvania where she also earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology.
Dr. Brisco-Bacik's research interests include cardiorenal dysfunction in heart failure and mechanisms of renal dysfunction in patients on mechanical circulatory support for which she currently receives funding from the NIH. She has co-authored numerous manuscripts, book chapters, and abstracts, and has presented at national and international meetings. She serves as an Associate Editor for Circulation: Heart Failure where she also aides in their Early Career Investigator initiative. When not physically at work, Dr. Brisco-Bacik enjoys finding new Zoom backgrounds to hide the evidence of her three live-in tornadoes, aka her daughter and twin boys.
