Dr. Davis is an Associate Professor at UCSF and the Director of the Heart Failure Program for the San Francisco Health Network (SFHN). He completed his medical school and internal medicine residency training at UCSF and joined faculty as a Heart Failure Hospitalist for a year prior to completing his Cardiovascular Medicine and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant fellowships at Washington University in Saint Louis. During this time, he obtained a master’s degree in Population Health Science. He joined Heart Failure faculty at Oregon Health and Science University in 2015 where he served as Medical Director for Mechanical Circulatory Support until being recruited back to UCSF in 2018 to develop and run a Heart Failure program for the SFHN. His clinical and research interests are in heart failure care delivery in the safety net setting. He has established the Heart Plus Clinic, the first joint heart failure and addiction medicine contingency management clinic for patients with heart failure and stimulant use disorder (an epidemic in the bay area). He was awarded the 2020 Henry F. (Chip) Chambers, MD Medicine Subspecialist Consultant of the Year.
