Dr. Katz is an Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant, Critical Care Cardiologist at Duke University. He is the Director of Cardiovascular Critical Care for the Duke Health System, as well as Co-Director of both the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program. His clinical and research interests focus on the contemporary care of the critically ill cardiac patient, risk stratification and management of cardiogenic shock, best practices in the use of temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support, and the development of novel care pathways for the end-stage heart failure patient.
