Heads up… the 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting will be September 27-30 in Atlanta, Georgia, and September will be here before you know it!

The ASM Program Committee and HFSA staff began planning for 2024 ASM one second after the 2023 meeting ended. While there is still a lot of planning to do, a number of major tasks have already been nailed down.

Nearly 100 scientific session proposals were submitted this year, giving the Committee and staff plenty of options when developing the robust scientific program for ASM 2024.
 
Abstract submissions were just as impressive. As a reminder, ASM features abstracts in multiple ways. Our ePoster Hub gives researchers an opportunity to display their ePoster on a digital screen and discuss their science in one-on-one conversations in the Hub. Some abstracts are selected to appear as Oral Abstract Sessions, which are fast-paced oral presentations with Q&A guided by moderators, including editors of JCF. Finally, researchers may also be eligible to participate in three investigator award competitions held onsite.
 
After their successful debut in Cleveland last year, we are once again planning the very popular Kick Off Sessions, including the Annual HFSA Case Competition and Need-to-Know Sessions. Need-to-Know Sessions are fast sessions providing you the hard-hitting facts that you need to learn about a topic in just 30 minutes. You’ll want to start off your Friday at the meeting with these sessions, which are sure to get your energy flowing before you hit the Exhibit Hall, ePoster Hub, and Oral Abstract theater for the first time.

This year’s morning plenary sessions will provide you the opportunity to gather with your colleagues and start your day tuning in on one topic and celebrating the recipients of the 2024 HFSA awards (including the Lifetime Achievement Award). Stay tuned for announcements about plenary keynote speakers and award recipients.

Registration for ASM 2024 will open later this spring and we’ll continue to share more news about the meeting as it becomes available.
