The Heart Failure Society of America Learning Center is having its 1-Year Anniversary!
The Heart Failure Society of America launched the Learning Center in April 2020. The Learning Center is THE place to go to explore sponsored and non-sponsored webinar offerings and meetings and events. The amount of content on the Learning Center is amazing!
In case you have not been to the site, I am going to provide a “teaser” in the hopes that you will log in and see for yourself what it’s all about. You can browse the continuing education for providers, industry perspectives categories and education for patients and caregivers.
Continuing education content includes 27 offerings, some of which have continuing medical or nursing education credit (CME/CNE) and/or maintenance of certification (MOC) credit for those who need the requirements for medical specialty board certification.
Topics range from preventing heart failure, to pharmacology, special topics (i.e., amyloidosis), and treating comorbidities (i.e., diabetes) and advanced cases (i.e., cardiogenic shock and hypervolemia). Some offerings focus on simple tips and others are core learning content. If you missed the HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting 2020, you can obtain the information you need to stay current in your practice!
Continuing Education content includes both meetings and events:
- Of the 27 offerings, the 2019 HFSA Comprehensive HF Review and the 2020 Virtual Board Certification Review Course are included (each offers multiple continuing education credit).
- HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting 2020 content has been bundled in multiple ways. One learning pathway includes 11 MOC courses (with continuing education) and another includes the slides and recordings of nearly all the scientific sessions (without continuing education). In addition, coming soon- learners can choose to review HFSA Annual Scientific Meeting content with continuing education credit and they will have a link to the ePoster Hall for a limited time! This package will offer over 50 CEU’s for physicians and nurses, over 30 pharmacy credits and 12 MOC points. For those of you who need education credits for state licensure or certification renewal, this may be an easy and important way to meet your learning needs.
The Industry Perspectives content includes one industry-sponsored webinar and two industry theatre presentations that are free to view – with more on the way this year!
Patient education content currently includes 7 webinars and 11 modules. Everything in this section is free and available OnDemand and includes taking care of yourself, physical activity, medication management, advance care planning, emotional wellness, managing feelings, and managing heart failure and diabetes.
The HFSA Learning Center allows you to receive the education you need to remain current your way on your time!
After you go to the site, please let us know your ideas for additional content for the Learning Center (use this feedback form). We need to hear from you so that the Learning Center stays relevant and cutting edge and that we are providing you the best online education on the planet!
