The Heart Failure Society of America and the Journal of Cardiac Failure (JCF) have approved new policies emphasizing the importance of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at the association and its journal. The policies state that DEI are core values for the organizations and will be applied to all areas of the association and journal. JCF’s policy also includes elements specific to its publishing role, including the inclusion of innovative work from diverse perspectives.

- Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are core values for the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA).
- HFSA supports and promotes diversity of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, discipline, career-stage and geography, among other domains – across all areas of the association.
- HFSA will promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the association and foster belonging in our community at large.

- JCF supports and promotes diversity of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, discipline, career-stage and geography, among other domains – across all aspects of the Journal: among journal leadership, reviewers, and authors as well as in journal content.
- JCF strives to be bias-free and publish the most innovative and impactful academic work from individuals with diverse perspectives to generate improved experiences and outcomes for all individuals living with heart failure.
- JCF strongly encourages submissions that highlight diversity in all its dimensions.
