Elena Donald, MD is a third-year cardiology fellow at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Elena earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, where she also competed as a Division I swimmer. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency and chief medical resident year at Columbia University. Her professional interests include advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and developing a multidisciplinary transition program for pediatric heart transplant recipients transferring care to adult programs. Outside of the hospital, you can find Elena running along the Hudson River, skiing in Vermont in the winters, or indulging in a historical fiction novel.
