Dr. Eileen Hsich is the Medical Director for the Heart Transplant Program at the Cleveland Clinic and specializes in heart failure in women, heart transplantation, and nuclear cardiology.
 
Dr. Hsich received her medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed her cardiology fellowship at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. She did cardiovascular basic science research both at the NIH and Tufts- New England Medical Center where she received the National Research Service Award for Individual Postdoctoral Fellows. She was appointed to The Cleveland Clinic in 2004 after completing her clinical training in heart failure/ heart transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
 
Dr. Hsich has received recognition for her clinical and research expertise in the field of heart failure/transplantation and has served on the advisory committee for United Network for Organ Sharing and Medicare. She has published in many high impact journals and served as the co-principal investigator on multi-center trials. In 2018 she was awarded a 2.8 million dollar NIH grant to study the impact of disparities affecting survival among advanced heart failure patients and transplant recipients and in 2023 was awarded another R01 to predict dialysis post-LVAD implantation. She is a proud member of WITMCS and has co-chaired with Dr. Dharini Ramu the Education committee since initiation of the organization.
