Courtney Shakowski, PharmD, BCCCP, FHFSA is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist of Cardiology at the University of Colorado Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Aurora, CO. Dr. Shakowski received her Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Hanover College in Hanover, IN and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of California San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in San Diego, CA. She completed a PGY1 pharmacotherapy residency followed by a PGY2 critical care residency at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. She is a board-certified pharmacotherapy and critical care specialist. Dr, Shakowski has published several peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. Her research interests include anticoagulants and warfarin for the treatment of left ventricular thrombus; chronic disease management among patients with diabetes and coronary artery disease; advanced cardiovascular pharmacotherapy; and emergency cardiovascular management.
