Call for Town Hall Volunteers at ACC.17

Practice News Partners

The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) is calling for heart failure specialist volunteers for a multidisciplinary Town Hall on Cardiogenic Shock at the American College of Cardiology’s annual meeting in Washington, DC.

Led by moderators Dr. Srihari Naidu and Dr. David Baran, the Town Hall will take place on Saturday, March 18 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm over a working dinner. Slots are limited and participants will be provided a $250 honorarium for their time. The program is underwritten by Getinge.

The goal of this Town Hall is to work with all stakeholders within the Shock Team spectrum (interventional cardiologists, intensivists, heart failure specialists, cardiovascular surgeons and nurses) to:

  1. Develop a consensus on the definition of Pre-shock and Shock;
  2. Identify members and roles of the Shock Team; and
  3. Outline next steps such as the development of guidance documents and algorithms to improve our patients’ odds of surviving shock.
