Call for Nominations for Volunteer Opportunities – 2019

Application Deadline – April 4th, 2019

Application Requirements:

The Heart Failure Society of America invites HFSA members to submit their names for consideration to serve on the HFSA Board of Directors or on an HFSA committee.

Volunteerism is critical to the future success of the HFSA.  We need your talents and commitment in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the association.

Members are encouraged to either self-nominate or nominate a colleague for the Board of Directors and committee membership to help lead HFSA activities. Committee members are elected for a two-year term with eligibility for a second two-year term.

The following HFSA committees have openings for the 2019-2021 volunteer year:

Board of Directors - 3 vacancies
1 - President-Elect
2 - Director Positions

Development Committee - 1 vacancy
Encourage financial support and industry participation in HFSA’s educational programs by fostering relationships with industry partners.

Early Career Committee- 14 vacancy
To promote interest and careers of trainees and early career individuals through education, networking opportunities, and fostering communication among trainees.

International Relations Committee - 2 vacancies
Lead in the implementation of international initiatives, goals and objectives for the association and assist in the coordination of international activities across the association.

Lifetime Achievement Award Committee - 3 vacancies
To design and oversee the process for individuals nominated for the lifetime achievement award in heart failure. This committee may also be used to review and recommend guidelines for other awards should the Society expand the awards program.

Membership Committee - 2 vacancies
Identify and develop HFSA's membership goals and activities for maintaining and building membership. Administer the Fellow’s in HFSA recognition program.

Nursing Committee - 3 vacancies
To increase the participation of nurses and nurse practitioners in HFSA activities to help fulfill the mission.

Publications and Scientific Statements Committee - 1 vacancy
Provide oversight of the Journal of Cardiac Failure and coordination of HFSA scientific statements, including generation of topics for scientific statements.

Research Committee - 6 vacancies
Responsible for oversight and/or development of research activities in the area of heart failure for the Society, including evaluation of the heart failure grants to young investigator.

Application Process Requirements - President Elected

  4. Conflict of Interest form
  5. Oral Presentation by phone with Committee.

The online application process will allow you to answer the basic demographic questions and upload your CV and letter of recommendation. You can save your progress and return later if you don't have the required documents.

Applications will not be considered completed until all questions are answered, and a CV has been uploaded.

The deadline to submit applications to serve is April 4th, 2019.

All applications will be reviewed by the Nominating Committee. Individuals recommended will be brought to the Board of Directors for review and approval. Individuals selected will be notified in June 2019. Only applications from current HFSA members will be considered. Incomplete applications or those not supported by the required supplemental information will not be considered by the Nominations Committee.
