Dr. Andrew J. Sauer is a cardiologist and associate professor at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Originally from a farm town in Nebraska, he completed his medical school at the University of Rochester, followed by medicine training at MGH and fellowships at Northwestern, where he also served on the faculty. He has nearly a decade's experience in advanced heart failure and heart transplant program building and leadership. Dr. Sauer’s passion is bent on exploring rural health care disparities and using remote monitoring and digital health technologies to supplement telemedicine and close the implementation gap. He also serves HFSA as a national research committee member and Associate Editor for the Journal of Cardiac Failure.
