All are welcome to attend roundtables, which will take place in the Exhibit Hall. Advance sign-ups are encouraged, but not required.

Saturday, September 28 | 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM | Heart Failure Pharmacist Clinic Starter Kit

Hosted by the HFSA Pharmacist Committee

A discussion to share perspective regarding the key elements to successful development and implementation of a pharmacist-run heart failure or heart failure subspecialty clinic. Panelists and participants will discuss their experience with clinic protocol design, business justification, day-to-day responsibilities, and challenges to aid practitioners interested in leveraging pharmacist expertise and staffing in the ambulatory heart failure setting.

Saturday, September 28 | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Achieving/Maintaining Work Life Balance as an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist

Hosted by the HFSA Women in Heart Failure Committee

Work life balance is important in helping to maintain career satisfaction, avoid burn out and in attracting future trainees to a field. As women, the challenges we face are unique and it can be difficult knowing how best to navigate this. During this round table discussion, there will be opportunities for early career physicians to engage with mid and late career physicians to discuss strategies that have been successful in creating adequate work-life balance and strategies that have been effective in avoiding burn out/dealing with burn out. Members can discuss how to become more efficient with managing the clinical demands (rounding, charting, inbox) while still carving out time to engage in research, administrative pursuits or other scholarly activities. If possible, can have representation from physicians in both academic and private practice ideally to provide both perspective.

As more and more nurses are engaging in QI and research, the Nurse Committee sponsored roundtable is offering an opportunity to bring nurses together to talk about how to start in research, potential career benefits, how and where to present research, and how to find other nurse researcher for collaboration.

Hosted by the HFSA Women in Heart Failure Committee

Almost every professional in the field of HF changes jobs at some point in their career, whether by moving within the same institution or transitioning to a different one. This roundtable will facilitate discussions on the challenges and strategies involved in such transitions. Participants will explore topics such as identifying new opportunities, aligning goals and skill sets with institutional needs, building relationships and adapting to change, while maintaining continuity. Key discussion points will include self-awareness, effective communication skills, leadership support, and professional development opportunities to facilitate a smooth transition and maximize success in the new role.
